Health officials in the Lanaudière region have confirmed a case of measles at the emergency room a Saint-Charles-Borromée hospital.

Sources tell Radio-Canada it was an employee who worked the the hospital while contagious on March 13, 16 and 17.

The hospital's director, Hélène Boisvert, said more than half the patients who may have been exposed to disease through this person have been contacted.

They said the person was not vaccinated against measles and could remain infectious until April 7.

As of the end of March, officials had said there were 158 cases of the disease in the region.

All were members of a religious community which does not believe in vaccination.
