A man with alleged ties to the Montreal Mafia has been killed in a Saturday evening shooting in Laval.
The Sûreté du Québec have launched an investigation into the death of a man in his 60s, who has not yet been identified, after he was gunned down around 5:30 p.m. in the Vimont neighbourhood.
A security perimeter was installed near the intersection of Arthur-Mignault and Antoine-Forestier streets.
Sgt. Audrey-Anne Bilodeau said the shooting appeared to be linked to a "settling of accounts" within the Mafia.
The man was transported to hospital where he was declared dead, Bilodeau said.
