Longueuil police are asking for help to track down a fraudster who claimed to be a family friend in need of money following an accident.

Longueuil police are asking for help to track down a man who scammed a senior in the city.

Longueuil police are asking for help to track down a fraudster who claimed to be a family friend in need of money following an accident. 

The suspect is white, roughly 35 years old, and French-speaking, police say. (Longueuil police)
On Feb. 20, investigators say the man told one victim in a phone call he was a grandson's friend and needed help. 

Identifying himself as Jérôme Landry, the man asked to meet his victim at a McDonald's Restaurant in St-Hubert with $2,600.

He left on foot after obtaining the money.

Police say the suspect is French-speaking, white and approximately 35 years old.
