L'Assomption city hall searched by Quebec anti-corruption unit
Investigators with Quebec's anti-corruption unit are searching through records at city hall in L'Assomption, for the second time in about three months.
UPAC investigators search records of previous municipal administration, mayor says
Quebec's anti-corruption unit has been carrying out a search at L'Assomption city hall since 11:45 a.m.
According to the mayor of L'Assomption, Jean-Claude Gingras, UPAC investigators are searching through the records of the former municipal administration.
This is the second time that UPAC has visited the city hall of L'Asssomption, Que. in about three months.
In April, UPAC investigators carried out a similar search, in connection with the former administration.
All staff members were asked to leave the building while some 20 investigators sift through documents and computer files.
No arrests are expected.
