Hudson baker to make Kylie Jenner's birthday cake
Birthday party for American reality TV star set to take place at Pointe-Calumet Beachclub
When American reality TV star Kylie Jenner comes to Montreal next week to celebrate her 18th birthday, she'll be greeted with a confection fit for a Kardashian: a multi-tier cake created by Hudson baker Jessika Menard, with the price tag in the thousands of dollars.
Jenner, the youngest member of the Kardashian clan, is set to ring in her birthday at Beachclub, a large outdoor club in Pointe-Calumet on Montreal's North Shore, on August 16th.
"Of course I'm very excited," says Menard. "I'm not stressing about making this big cake yet...Maybe on the day I deliver it I'll feel the anxiety about it."
Menard is still deciding what the cake will look like. She says she plans to "let her imagination run wild" as she sculpts and decorates a cake big enough to feed Jenner's entourage and guests.
Menard, who owns Cakes par Haute Couture as well as Le Cozy Café in Hudson, has been decorating cakes for four years. In the past, she's made cakes as tall as eight tiers, as well as cakes shaped like cameras, parrots, and Tiffany gift boxes.
A mock cake created by Menard for a photoshoot promoting the event was five-tiers high and had a mermaid theme, with gold and turquoise scales, turquoise waves of fondant icing, and a pink harlequin mask perched on top.
Together the two cakes run a total bill of $3,000.
She'll be hand-delivering the cake to Beachclub herself and might even get a chance to see Jenner blow out the candles.
