Speed, alcohol likely factors in St-Colomban crash

A passenger died after a driver lost control of his vehicle in the town of St-Colomban, just north of Mirabel.

The crumpled car ended up in a private driveway on a quiet residential street.

Police said speed and alcohol may have contributed to the incident.

Mirabel police witnessed the crash.

Because the municipal force may have played a role, the Quebec provincial police force has been called in to do an independent investigation of what happened.
