A man in his 60s working on a farm in Quebec's Beauce region was badly injured after a trailer being towed by a tractor hit him.

The incident happened on St-Luc Rural Road around 4 p.m. on Saturday at a family farm in St-Bernard.

The man was working in an area alongside other family members when he was struck by one of several trailers, which happened to be on a slight incline.

An ambulance arrived at the farm before provincial police officers did. The man has not yet been located by the Sûreté du Québec, said Sgt. Audrey-Anne Bilodeau.

However, Bilodeau said paramedics told officers the man suffered major injuries.

The SQ is investigating.
