The Décarie Expressway will be nearly completely closed the weekends of July 9 and 16.

The closure begins at 10 p.m. on Friday and goes until 5 a.m. on Monday for both weekends.

The exact stretch of road affected is from the Turcot Interchange to Highway 40.

The closure is needed so crews can tear down the St-Jacques overpass as part of the reconstruction of the Turcot Interchange.

Specific closures

  • Complete closure between exit 64 (Sherbrooke Street) and the Turcot interchange.
  • Closure of two of the three lanes between Autoroute 40 and exit 64.
  • Closure of the Royalmount, Jean-Talon, Côte-Saint-Luc and Girouard entrances

Transports Quebec spokeswoman Nomba Danielle said after the construction in July there will be more in the fall.

"We are doing everything in order to complete at least the major part of the dismantling these two weekends, and then there will remain only this last part for the fall," Danielle said.

She advised drivers to do everything to avoid the area during the construction weekends.
