Debra Arbec to co-moderate English-language leaders' debate
Montreal media team up for Sept. 17 event
The first-ever televised provincial leaders' debate in English takes place Sept. 17 and CBC Montreal anchor Debra Arbec will be asking the questions that matter to you.
Arbec will co-moderate the debate alongside CTV's Mutsumi Takahashi. The event will be hosted by Global's Jamie Orchard.
All three stations did a call-out for questions from the public and will be asking them throughout the 90 minute event.
Participants include Liberal Premier Philippe Couillard, Coalition Avenir Québec Leader François Legault, Parti Québécois leader Jean-Francois Lisée and Québec Solidaire spokesperson Manon Massé
The debate begins at 5:30 p.m. on CBC Television's main network and CBC Radio One in Quebec.
You can also stream it live on the CBC Montreal website as well as on Facebook, Twitter and Youtube.
Journalists from major English-language media outlets will fact-check the leaders' statements in real time during the event.
This will be the second English-language leaders' debate in Quebec history. The first was a radio-only matchup in 1985 between Liberal leader Robert Bourassa and PQ leader Pierre-Marc Johnson.
