5 reasons to vote for the CBC Montreal Christmas Tree
All we need is a miracle. All we need is you
Every so often, CBC Montreal employees get to leave the depths of newsroom and venture out into the community.
On Friday, Nov. 30, our small-yet-mighty team of decorators descended upon Plaza Pointe-Claire for West island Community Shares' annual tree decorating competition and now we need your help to win.
Armed with handmade decorations and a whole lotta heart, Team CBC Montreal had 45 minutes to decorate a six-foot tree from head to toe. The end result is truly a thing of beauty. But while we know in our hearts that we're winners, we also require outside validation from strangers. In order for us to win the title of "best tree," we humbly request that you vote for us. If you're not convinced by the picture alone, perhaps these five facts will help sway you:
1. We have handmade ornaments. The theme for this year's tree is "Retro Montreal" and Team CBC designed and made almost every ornament by hand. From Metro car garlands with pics of CBC personalities inside to Youppi and Steinberg's ornaments, each item was crafted with a fine blend of love and an insatiable desire for victory.
2. We pay homage to Montreal. The CBC tree is a tribute to our fine city. Maurice Richard ornament? Check. Habitat '67? Yup. And who could resist our vintage Montreal vanity plate tree topper? No one, that's who! So vote for us!
3. We have a title to defend. To you, it might not be much. To us, knowing that we're your favourite tree for the second year in a row would fill our newsroom with joy and pride. How could you possibly let us down?
4. We got special T-shirts made. Seriously, we really need this. Don't judge. Just vote.
5. The tree really is a thing of beauty and you'd vote for us anyway, no reasons given. Ok, cool. Thanks for your support!
The link to vote is here. The deadline is Dec. 21.
