Montreal police are investigating after an Islamic centre linked to controversial teacher Adil Charkaoui was vandalized the same night as the Paris attacks.
Const. Louis Héroux says an object was thrown through a window of the building on Friday night.
"The SPVM is looking into it as it possibly being a hate crime due to the nature of the place," Héroux said.
The centre has covered up the broken window with a piece of cardboard for now.
Charkaoui is an outspoken advocate of Montreal's Muslim community and heads an anti-islamophobia group in Quebec.
He's also been linked to two youths suspected of having left Montreal for Syria to fight for the Islamic State. Charkaoui denies these allegations.
