CBC Montreal's Daybreak takes over Café Milano in St-Léonard
Invited guests pondered what it means to be Italian in Montreal today
CBC Montreal Daybreak host Mike Finnerty and the rest of the team explored what it means to be Italian in Montreal today in a live broadcast from Café Milano in St-Léonard.
The 24-hour café, located at 5188 Jarry Street East, is a local institution in the Italian community.
The café has been serving real Italian coffee to Montrealers for 45 years.
This morning's show featured entrepreneurs, sports and media personalities from Montreal's Italian community.
Guests included:
- Sandro Battaglia, a tailor and the co-owner of Battaglia and Aly, located in Little Italy.
- Alessandra Tropeano, a singer of classic Italian songs and organizer of arts events in the Montreal-Italian community.
- Danny ''Smiles'' Francis, head chef and co-owner Le Bremner restaurant in Old Montreal.
