The Bonaventure Expressway heading into downtown is open to traffic again after a damaged signage panel was removed.

The federal bridge corporation, which oversees the highway, had closed the highway for about 30 minutes beginning at 10 a.m.

Earlier this morning, around 7:45 a.m., a truck hit an overhead road sign, prompting the bridge corporation to send a crew to secure it during morning rush hour.

The highway was initially completely closed for a time as the structure was inspected earlier in the morning, snarling morning traffic, then two of three lanes were reopened.
