The Jacques Cartier Bridge bike path is now open for the 2016 season.

The organization overseeing the bridge says its early opening is due to the mild weather Montreal has had recently.

The path is open to cyclists and pedestrians wanting to cross the bridge.

The Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges corporation says if winter weather returns, the path may need to close again temporarily.
