Beirut to kick off Montreal Jazz Fest 2015 free outdoor concerts

The 36th edition of Montreal's International Jazz Festival will include a free performance by the eclectic American indie band, Beirut.

The 36th edition of Montreal's International Jazz Festival will include a free performance by the eclectic American indie band, Beirut.  

The band will kick off the festival at the outdoor TD Stage on June 26 at 9:30 p.m. 

The festival unveiled its concert hall headliners last month. They include Erykah Badu, Huey Lewis & The News and Wayne Shorter as well as jazz heavyweights John Scofield, Joe Lovano, and Ron Carter.

The entire free outdoor program of concerts and activities will be unveiled June 2.
