Atif Siddiqi releases new music and a documentary as their own kind of PSA on sexual assault
Atif Siddiqi, a gender-bending performer and singer known as Tranie Tronic, was one of the first South Asian queer performers in Montreal frequenting the city's ballroom and drag scenes of the mid-90s. Their most recent work, a full-length album and documentary film, are very personal projects, focused around a sexual assault that Atif survived in 2018. Although the perpetrator was never charged by Montreal police, Atif turned to art to find resolution and healing for themselves, and to educate and inspire other survivors.

Inuk artist Jason Sikoak knows all of the words to Kermit the Frog's song 'Rainbow Connection'
While Jason Sikoak is making art, they listen to a playlist that includes "Rainbow Connection" by Kermit the Frog from The Muppet Movie - a hit from his childhood. The song is about manifesting dreams, something that Jason started to do more frequently when many of their teenage dreams of becoming an artist started to come true more than 20 years after he first hummed the tune as a kid.

Revisiting Chef Swaneige Bertrand's mission for 'reappropriation'

Since then, she’s been continuing to honour Indigenous cuisines and her costume design work was highlighted in the 2024 edition of Vancouver’s Capture photography festival. Lebanese-born Montreal electro-pop duo adapts 2021 album into video game
