St-Jean-sur-Richelieu native was attending a blue grass festival in the city
Police in San Francisco are investigating after a Quebec woman was found dead in a park in the city.
Local media reported a passerby found 23-year-old Audrey Carey's body on Saturday in Golden Gate Park.
San Francisco police spokesperson Albie Esparza said she suffered a blunt force trauma to her head.
"When officers and paramedics arrived, they located the victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene," Esparza said.
"Our medical examiner responded and classified this as a homicide because of the trauma to the body. It is a tragedy and our job is to find out exactly what happened."
Carey is from St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, about 50 kilometres southeast of Montreal.
St-Jean-sur-Richelieu police say they have notified the woman's family.
Carey was attending a bluegrass festival in the city, according to reports.
