Investigators with Canadian Pacific are looking into a collision that happened late Wednesday involving an AMT commuter train and a Montreal police cruiser.

Police say they responded to a call in Lachine at around 9 p.m. about a woman walking along the tracks near Highway 20 and Norman Street.

While the officers drove around to conduct a search for the woman, the police cruiser got stuck on the train tracks.

"The vehicle could not get out of that position. Following that, there was a train with some passengers that was heading west and struck the police car," said Montreal police spokesman Jean-Pierre Brabant.

The collision happened on the Vaudreuil-Hudson AMT train line.

No one was injured.

At around 10:40 p.m., the AMT sent out a tweet stating that service on the 31 train, toward Vaudreuil, was cancelled.
