Benoit Roberge may not be the only Montreal police officer who allegedly gave sensitive internal information to the Hells Angels.

An Enquête exclusive conducted by Radio-Canada’s investigative journalists has dug up information about Montreal police investigating a second officer under suspicion of passing police information on to members of the powerful biker gang.

We feel betrayed.—Montreal police Chief Marc Parent

The officer, who worked closely with Roberge on the team of investigators specialized in fighting organized crime, failed a lie-detector test following Roberge’s arrest in early October 2013.

According to Enquête’s sources, the officer and Roberge often exchanged information.

The officer’s spouse is a prosecutor in the Justice Department’s organized crime section where Roberge’s wife also worked.

The officer is currently the subject of both an internal Montreal police probe and a provincial police investigation, but is still employed by the force and is on administrative duty.

Once considered a star, Roberge left the police community shocked after his arrest.

“We feel betrayed,” said Montreal police Chief Marc Parent shortly after Roberge’s arrest.

He said Roberge never showed signs of being a Hells Angels informant.

Roberge retired from the Montreal police force in August 2013 and worked for Revenue Quebec until his arrest.

He is expected back in court tomorrow to learn the date of his preliminary trial.
