The first regular day of metro service to Laval unfolded without a hitch, officials said Monday.
Three new metro stops were built at the northern end of the orange subway line: de la Concorde, Montmorency and Cartier.
Between 30,000 and 35,000 Laval residents already use public transit, officials said.
The new metro stops will reduce their commute time on feeder bus routes.
The stations cost $745 million and took five years to build.
