Reggae musician Ziggy Marley talked about the current state of reggae music and finding success outside the shadow of his father, Bob Marley, during a CBC Radio interview in Winnipeg this afternoon.
"I embrace my father, I'm embracing music, I embrace who I am as a part of him," Marley told Ismaila Alfa of CBC's Up to Speed program hours before his concert at the Burton Cummings Theatre on Friday night.
"I just kept on being true to how I felt about making music and being humble and wanting to make music that have meaning in it — sincerely, not just for the money, not just for the fame, not just because of my name, but because … this is who I am."
