Winnipeg Transit is warning bus users that service is about to get worse with more late and cancelled routes.

The union began refusing overtime in late April, and now officials with Winnipeg Transit are warning it's causing a greater strain on the system.
It is warning riders dozens of major routes will be affected during morning and afternoon rush hours.
Routes affected during the morning rush hour:
18, 22, 25, 30, 31, 34, 40, 41, 44, 46, 57, 58, 59, 68, 162, 163, 181 and 183
Routes affected during the afternoon rush hour:
11, 16, 18, 25, 29, 38, 41, 48, 54, 58, 162, 163 and 183
Officials with Winnipeg Transit said they rely on voluntary overtime to make sure all buses are serviced at peak times, but now, because of the reduced overtime hours, they can't provide service on all of their routes.
It said riders should be prepared for delays or make alternate travel plans.
Riders can check the Winnipeg Transit website, call TeleBUS or call 311 for the latest service information.
Handi-Transit customers are not affected.
