Winnipeg School Division trustee Mike Babinsky censured again
Veteran trustee disciplined for 'making disparaging remarks about another colleague'
The Winnipeg School Division has censured Mike Babinsky, one of its longtime trustees, for the second time in less than six months.
The board of trustees passed a motion on Monday evening to censure the Ward 8 trustee for "making disparaging remarks about another colleague; using offensive language; and being disrespectful to fellow trustees and administration," the division said in a news release Tuesday.
The latest incident marks the fourth time Babinsky has been formally censured in his two-decade-long career as a school trustee.
In November, he was censured for forwarding one of his fellow trustees' emails to the media. At the time, he argued that the email in question was not confidential.
Babinsky received a warning in that case, but board chair Mark Wasyliw warned that he could face penalties if more incidents happen.
