Winnipeg police probe vehicle break-ins in Crescentwood, Rockwood
At least 24 vehicles had windows smashed, items taken
Winnipeg police are canvassing the city's Crescentwood and Rockwood neighbourhoods on Wednesday as they investigate dozens of vehicle break-ins that happened overnight.
At least 24 vehicles had their windows smashed in an area bounded by Academy Road, Stafford Street, Wilton Street and Garwood Avenue.
Electronics and change were stolen from the vehicles, according to police.
Officers are interviewing victims. Investigators believe they are looking for a lone male suspect.
Anyone with information about the break-ins is asked to contact the Winnipeg Police Service.
It's the second time in a week that multiple vehicle thefts and vandalism have been reported in that part of the city.
On Friday, police said more than 80 break-ins had been reported in the River Heights area since the middle of October.
In many of those cases, valuables were left out in the open, vehicle doors were left unlocked, or windows were smashed to gain access.
