Police lay more charges against masked teen with fake gun at Portage and Main
Teen charged with mischief endangering life, 5 other offences after tense moment at Portage and Main
A masked teen who walked into the middle of a busy Winnipeg intersection brandishing a fake gun earlier this week is facing more charges.
Police tackled the 17-year-old girl to the pavement at Portage Avenue and Main Street on Tuesday just after 10 a.m. CT.
Prior to the arrest, the girl removed a mask she was wearing when police arrived, pointed a replica gun to her head and dropped to the ground.

The teen then got to her feet and started walking away with the gun in her hand. One of the officers tackled her and she was arrested without further incident, according to police.
No one was injured, police said. It isn't yet clear what motivated the teen to do this.
The bizarre, four-minute long incident brought traffic to a standstill for a time and made for a tense few moments for bystanders and drivers in the area before police moved in.
Later that day, the teen was charged with possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose, causing a disturbance and public mischief.
On Wednesday, police laid three more charges against her, including disguise with intent, mischief endangering life and use of an imitation firearm during commission of an indictable offence.
