Later in the evening, police confirmed the discovery of a body but said an autopsy would have to be performed to confirm the person's identity.

Catherine Curtis went missing after leaving the Grace Hospital on April 25. A massive search for the 60-year-old woman has been underway since.

She had been admitted a couple of weeks earlier for mental health issues and left on April 25 on a hospital-approved unaccompanied walk.

Searchers have combed the area near Sturgeon Creek and Grace Hospital, as well as put up flyers across the city, hoping to find Curtis.

Nearby resident Elsie Boulay does not know the Curtis family but said she felt compelled to bring flowers to the area after hearing about her story on the news and seeing posters of Curtis in her apartment building.

"We deal with mental health issues at [Grace] hospital with my son," Boulay said.

Boulay said she hopes the flowers let the family know they are not alone.
