Two Winnipeg police officers are on their way to Edmonton to officiate Sunday's Grey Cup game.

Patrol Sgt. Brian Chrupalo will be a field judge while Const. Ritchie Miller will be an umpire.

Chrupalo, who officiates about 17 CFL games a year, said the skills he uses in his day job will help him on the field.

"At times at work we deal with people that are in stress. With football, people are excited, it's a passionate game and we're able to talk them down a little bit to get them focused back on the game," he said.

This will be the first Grey Cup game he has officiated and it's something he's always wanted to do.

"The game itself is gonna be … very exciting. It's a little Canadian history to do the Grey Cup," he said.

The game, which starts at 5 p.m. Sunday, features the Saskatchewan Roughriders and Montreal Alouettes in a rematch of the 2009 CFL championship, which was won by Montreal.
