Silver alert cancelled after missing senior found safe

A silver alert issued for a missing 79-year-old woman has been cancelled after she was found safe, Winnipeg police say. 

The senior had been reported missing after she was last seen around 9 p.m. on Monday near Manitoba Avenue and Powers Street.

A silver silver alert, put out when a vulnerable adult is reported missing, was issued for her Wednesday morning.  

Winnipeg police said later Wednesday that the woman had been found safe. 

CBC has removed the woman's name and photo to protect her privacy now that she has been found.
