Winnipeg businessman Abdo El Tassi has donated 30 computers to a group that's helping Syrian refugees who have arrived in the city.

A Winnipeg businessman has donated 30 computers to a group that's helping Syrian refugees who have arrived in the city.
Abdo El Tassi donated the laptops on Friday at L'Accueil Francophone, a program of the Société Franco-Manitobaine that supports newcomers to the province.
El Tassi said he left Lebanon in 1969 and has since become a successful entrepreneur who wants to share his good fortune with others, regardless of where they are from.
"We're not restricted to [a] Muslim country or a non-Muslim country; that's not the case," he said.
"The case is wherever you can help anybody in humanity in this world … then you do that."
El Tassi said he has helped 50 refugees in total over the years, including 30 who came to Canada from Vietnam.
