CFL all-star receiver Weston Dressler joins Winnipeg Blue Bombers
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have signed one of the CFL's elite receivers.
After eight seasons in green with the Saskatchewan Roughriders, Weston Dressler has inked a two-year contract with Winnipeg.
"He's one of the best receivers in the league. He's got over 50 career touchdowns. He's got a veteran presence," said Kyle Walters, general manager of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
"I'm confident to say he had other offers ... and he wanted to come to Winnipeg, which is nice."
"I'm beyond excited to start my career as a Winnipeg Blue Bomber," Dressler is quoted as saying in a press release from the Bombers.
"It's widely known the loyalty their fans have, and the passion the city and province have for the Bombers. The stadium is hands down the loudest in the CFL.
"And there are great football people in the organization. We have a quarterback who I think is as good as anyone in this league, and some really solid pieces around him. I'm really looking forward to the days ahead."

The 5-foot-7, 180-pound speedy receiver from Bismarck, N.D., was released by the Roughriders earlier this month by new head coach and general manager Chris Jones.
Dressler is a two-time CFL all-star and has been a division all-star on four occasions. He has 7,797 receiving yards on 539 receptions to go with 50 touchdowns.
"Coach [Mike] O'Shea was immediately interested in adding him to our offensive lineup, and we're very excited to have Weston on our side moving forward."
Dressler has five 1,000-yard seasons and 25 career 100-yard receiving games. He has also played in two Grey Cup games, winning in 2013.
