Man rushed to hospital in critical condition after West End stabbing
Victim's condition upgraded to stable, investigators asking anyone with information to come forward
A man was rushed to hospital in critical condition Sunday morning following a stabbing in Winnipeg's West End.
Police say they were called to a report of an assault around 7:10 a.m. Sunday in the area of McGee Street and Ellice Avenue. A man in his 20s had been stabbed and was taken to hospital in critical condition.
Officers taped off the back of an apartment building on the corner of the two streets and part of McGee has been closed to the public.
The victim's condition has since been upgraded to stable. There's no word yet on any suspects in the attack.
Investigators with the major crimes unit are investigating the assault and anyone with information that could help them is asked to call 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
