Victim butchered, jurors at murder trial told
Sidney Teerhuis-Moar has pleaded not guilty to the second-degree murder of Robin Greene.
A gruesome murder trial began Monday in a Winnipeg courtroom.
Sidney Teerhuis-Moar has pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder in the death of Robin Greene, 38.
His lawyer, Greg Brodsky, told jurors Teerhuis-Moar could not recall the 2003 slaying.
Crown attorney Sheila Leinburd briefly outlined the facts, saying Greene's body parts were found inside a room in Winnipeg's downtown Royal Albert Arms Hotel. The victim had been dismembered, beheaded and the body cut into eight pieces.
Police identification officers testified that body parts were stacked neatly in the bath tub. Leinburd said all of Greene's organs had been removed. Despite a search in the suite, the plumbing in the hotel, and dumpsters outside they were never recovered.
