Tornado warning ended for southern Manitoba

Environment Canada has ended a tornado warning for the rural municipalities of Piney, La Broquerie, Stuartburn, De Salaberry and Hanover.
The warning, which was issued shortly after 3:30 p.m. CT, covered the communities of La Broquerie, Marchand, Zhoda, Vita, Sundown, Piney, Woodridge, Sandilands, St-Pierre-Jolys, St. Malo, Steinbach, Niverville and Grunthal.
The RM of Ritchot was originally covered in the warning as well, after an eyewitness there reported seeing a funnel cloud near Ste. Agathe, but forecasters believe the area no longer faces a tornado risk.
Earlier in the afternoon, Environment Canada issued a tornado warning for the RMs of Ritchot and MacDonald, as well as the city of Winnipeg. It was later dropped.
