Thousands of Winnipeggers still don't know their zone and got slapped with a ticket for not moving their vehicles in time for the residential snow plowing operation.

From Friday to Sunday, all residential streets were plowed in Winnipeg, several zones at a time.

This time around, 6,697 people got tickets for not moving their cars and 1,574 vehicles were towed.

The last time residential streets were plowed in February 2014, there were 5,834 tickets issued and 1,859 vehicles towed.

City Coun. Janice Lukes told CBC News on Friday that the city is working on ways to better communicate the "Know your Zone" system for Winnipeggers.
