RCMP search for 4 men in connection with shooting in Thompson, Man.

A 25-year-old man from South Indian Lake was taken to hospital for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound after four people ambushed him at an apartment in northern Manitoba, RCMP say.

A 25-year-old man from South Indian Lake was shot after four people ambushed him at an apartment in northern Manitoba, and police are looking for four suspects who are considered armed and dangerous, RCMP say.

Mounties started investigating after getting a report that a man had arrived at the hospital in Thompson, Man., with a gunshot wound, police said in a news release Tuesday. The 25-year-old was in stable condition.

Then at 6:15 a.m. Saturday, RCMP received a report of a gunshot in an apartment building on Ashberry Place in Thompson.

Police allege four people entered the building, one armed with a shotgun, and waited for the 25-year-old to leave his suite, then shot him. The four fled before police arrived.

Police believe the attack was targeted.

RCMP have issued arrest warrants for Gage Hornan, 33, Dallas Spence, 30, Edward Francois, 26, and Archie Spence, 19, who have been charged with discharging a firearm with intent, careless use of a firearm, aggravated assault and numerous other firearm-related offences.

The four men are considered dangerous and the public should not approach or try to apprehend any of them, RCMP said.
