Thieves swipe $15K in copper

A gravel pit south of Winnipeg was raided by thieves, who made off with $15,000 worth of copper.

A gravel pit south of Winnipeg was raided by thieves, who made off with $15,000 worth of copper.

The theft occurred early Wednesday at the Thornberry gravel pit in the Rural Municipality of Ste. Anne, according to RCMP.

Rolls of copper wire were taken, along with copper fittings that the thieves removed from machinery on the property, police said.
