Temperatures rise again on Saturday, record-breaking weather sweeps Manitoba
Temperatures broke 23 records across the province on Friday and things are warming up again on Saturday
There's a stretch of mild weather in Manitoba, and Saturday is no exception to it.
The high is expected to reach 5 C, according to CBC meteorologist John Sauder, and some cloud will linger in the morning, but is expected to clear by Saturday afternoon, making room for the sun to shine.
Winds are expected to be light, gusting between 10 and 15 km/h from the southwest in the morning and up to 20 km/h later in the day.
On Saturday night, temperatures are expected to drop to –5 C.
Sauder is calling for above-zero temperatures again on Sunday, with the high expected to reach 1 C and southwest winds are expected to gust up to 25 km/h in the afternoon.
Dry, mild air coming from the Pacific Ocean combined with sunshine to create the warm weather Manitoba is experiencing, and things are warmed up even more because there's so little snow, according to Environment Canada.
On Friday, weather across northern and southern Manitoba broke historical records; perhaps the most notable was in Morden, where the record high for Dec. 4 was set in 1916 at 12.2 C and broken on Friday when temperatures reached 14.2 C. In total, 23 record highs were recorded.
