Teen shot, hospitalized in Winnipeg

A 14-year-old boy is in hospital after being shot Monday morning in Winnipeg's Lord Roberts neighbourhood.

A 14-year-old boy is in hospital after being shot Monday morning in Winnipeg's Lord Roberts neighbourhood.

It happened just before 4 a.m. at a townhouse on Taft Crescent, near the Fort Rouge Leisure Centre.

The residence was hit by more than a dozen shots and the teen, who was inside at the time, was struck in the lower body. He was sent to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and is listed in stable condition.

A number of people have been taken in for questioning but no arrests have been made.

Evidence markers were placed on the street as well as the front of the townhouse, where bullet holes could be seen in the wall and a large window.

No further information is available at this point.

The investigation is continuing by members of the organized crime unit.
