Winnipeg police closed a street near the west perimeter highway after a crash Sunday morning.

Police said they arrived at the corner of Roblin Boulevard and Dale Boulevard at 8:45 a.m. after reports of a "serious collision." 

Two drivers were taken to hospital. There was no immediate word on their condition.

Westbound Roblin Boulevard at Dale Boulevardwas closed for several Sunday morning.

The road was closed again later in the day Sunday as police returned to the scene.

A tweet from police warned drivers to avoid the intersection around 5:45 p.m. while the roadway was closed again for the Central Traffic Unit to continue their investigation into the crash.

The intersection reopened to traffic again shortly after 6:30 p.m.
