2 men charged in beating death of fellow inmate at Stony Mountain

Two men have been charged in the beating death of a fellow inmate at Stony Mountain Institution last month.

Staff at the federal prison found a 50-year-old man in his cell suffering from serious injuries on Feb. 20. He was transported to hospital in critical condition and died of his injuries on March 3.

RCMP confirmed Friday that Tristan Storm Fisher, 20, of Selkirk, and Carl Jessie Klyne, 23, of Swan River, have been charged with second-degree murder. Both men were inmates at Stony Mountain at the time of the assault.

They remain in custody and were scheduled to appear in court on March 23.
