Province reinstates park entry fees
People visiting provincial parks in Manitoba will once again have to pay to get in.
For the past three years the government has waved vehicle entry fees to encourage more use, but it is reinstating them in 2012.
Beginning on April 1, it will cost $4 for a single-day pass, an option that wasn't previously available.
Visitors can also buy a three-day pass for $8, or an annual pass for $30.
The province says all park users, including campers, cottagers, and commercial operators, will be required to buy and display a provincial park vehicle permit. That is in addition to overnight camping fees.
The province's 2012 Seasonal Campers Guide and Application Package will be available online by Jan. 3, 2012.
The application deadline for seasonal sites is Feb. 3, 2012 at 4:30 p.m.
