Winnipeg police say homicide officers are investigating the death of a woman whose body was found inside a home on Pritchard Avenue.

Several police units, including the identification unit, surrounded the North End house for several hours on Monday.

Police tape surrounded the 1½-storey brick home at 298 Pritchard Ave., just off the corner of Charles Street. Identification officers were seen going in and out of the house with small evidence bags.

According to police, emergency crews were called to the home at about 10:40 a.m. on reports that a person at that address may be injured.

Officers arrived to find a woman deceased, according to police, who added that the circumstances surrounding her death are not confirmed at this time.
