Police seek 'person of interest' in mall shooting

Winnipeg police have issued a Canada-wide warrant for a man they believe is connected to a brazen shooting outside the downtown Portage Place shopping mall Nov. 28.

Winnipeg police have issued a Canada-wide warrant for a man they believe is connected to a brazen shooting outside the downtown Portage Place shopping mall on Nov. 28.

A 29-year-old man was shot outside a bus stop on Portage Avenue near Edmonton Street during the lunch hour. The victim was taken to hospital in critical condition but was later upgraded to stable condition. He has since been released from hospital.

Police are looking for John William Nault, 29, of Winnipeg.

Nault is being described by police as a "person of interest" in connection to the case.

The public is warned not to approach Nault. Police believe he is armed and dangerous.

He was on bail at the time of the shooting.
