11 more dogs have been born since mass seizure, Winnipeg Humane Society says

The first group of dogs brought to the Winnipeg Humane Society from a mass seizure last week are up for adoption. 

Five dogs are ready to find their new home, the organization said in a news release Thursday. 

Dozens of dogs were taken from a home in the Richmond West neighbourhood that animal services said had inhumane conditions May 15. Sixty-eight dogs were seized at the time, but the humane society said in its release Thursday 11 more have been born since the seizure.

The organization said it will be a few weeks before puppies and moms with babies will be available for adoption. 

In the meantime, more of the dogs are being spayed and neutered as they get ready to find their new homes.
