Missing 12-year-old girl from Winnipeg found safe, police say

A 12-year-old girl who went missing last week from Winnipeg's North End has been found and is safe.

Police had issued a news release on Friday, asking for the public's help to find the girl, who was reported last seen May 25.

On Monday, police issued a brief update, saying the girl was located.

No information about where or when she was found was provided.

A previous version of this story contained the girl's name and photo but those have been removed to protect her privacy as she is a child.
