Teen reported missing in Thompson found safe, say RCMP

RCMP in Thompson, Man., say a teenage boy who was reported missing has been found safe.

Police say the 13-year-old boy, who was from Winnipeg, had come to Thompson to visit family. He was last seen Tuesday night leaving a home in the northern city to visit with friends, RCMP said in their original news release on Saturday.

On Sunday afternoon, RCMP issued an update saying the teen "has been safely located."

CBC News has removed the photo and name of the boy to protect his identity now that he has been found.
