Meeting with Taylor Swift leaves Winnipeg teen breathless
She says the pop star already knew her social media accounts, name, hometown and birthday
A Winnipeg teen has been left breathless after meeting her idol, Taylor Swift.
Ria Drapete, 16, manages a number of social media accounts dedicated to the superstar, and on Thanksgiving weekend, she travelled to Fargo to see her perform live.
Before the show, Swift requested Drapete be moved to the front of the line for a meeting, and when she got there, Swift told the teen she reads her blog.
"Usually I'm not an emotional person like that but I couldn't like, hold it in," Drapete told CBC.
"It didn't even hit me … like, it hit me after I met Taylor and I was like, 'Wait. Did that actually just happen?'"
Drapete said Swift knew her name, her birthday and her hometown and acknowledged she follows her closely online.
"Like she actually told me, her exact words were like, 'You don't know how creepy I am. I stalk your blog.' And she just looked me dead in the eye saying that," Drapete said.
On Friday, the teen was still in awe of the encounter.
"I still think about it every day," she said.
"Like, if I do badly on a test I'm just like, 'It's okay. I met Taylor.'"
