Manitoba Target stores not coming with U.S. pricing
U.S. retailer to open 22 locations across western Canada with 'competitive pricing'
Over 20 Target locations will open across western Canada Tuesday, including two in Winnipeg and one in Brandon, but shoppers may be surprised to find the prices won't be the same as in the United States.
The U.S. retailer opened three locations west of Toronto in March, but Tuesday's opening will be the first time a Target has opened in Western Canada.

The stores are expected to carry a number of exclusive lines including Archer Farms, Market Pantry and Up & Up. The stores will also briefly carry Roots clothing, Nate Berkus housewares and Sam and Libby shoes.
But Target’s vice-president of external relations, Derek Jenkins, told CBC the prices in Canada aren’t being matched to those in U.S. Targets.
"Our model is that we want to make sure that we are competitive in the Canadian market," said Jenkins.
Winnipeg’s locations at Southdale Centre and Kildonan Place Mall will open at 8 a.m. on Tuesday. Brandon’s location will also open at 8 a.m.
