Crew out working on restoring power out for thousands in western Manitoba
Manitoba Hydro says most outages due to sleet and snow
Manitoba Hydro dispatched crews to western Manitoba Sunday morning, working to restore power for thousands of customers.
The power remained out for over 2,600 customers in and around Shoal Lake, Neepawa, Carberry and Portage la Prairie, according to a tweet from Hydro sent shortly after 6 p.m. Saturday.
As of Sunday morning, power was still out for 2,476, according to Manitoba Hydro's social media.
Hydro said Saturday heavy snow in the area is to blame and crews were been working all day to repair outages caused by tree contacts and downed lines.
