Six Manitoba bands are readying for a trip to Austin, Texas for South by Southwest.

A showcase of western Canadian talent is planned for March 16 at Canada House, the festival's venue for Canadian indie music.

Yes We Mystic is performing, coming off an all-acoustic set at The Good Will and teeing up their third European tour.

Mod-rockers Duotang are also part of the showcase. Before they leave for the fest, you can catch them at The Handsome Daughter on March 10.

Slow Leaves is also on the bill. Slow Leaves is a project by Winnipeg's Grant Davidson. He'll be headed to Germany for a tour in May after the SXSW showcase.

The shoegaze/psychedelic band Living Hour will be part of the showcase. They just finished a western Canadian tour with their last stop at home in Winnipeg for Big Fun.

Meanwhile, Mise en Scene will also make the trip for two SXSW showcases.

Electronic act Crapface will also be headed to Texas to spin at events happening during the festival.
